Event Information

Help America’s VetDogs make a difference in the lives of veterans with disabilities by joining us on this run and walk, or by becoming a sponsor for this exciting event—the 5th Annual Long Island Run & Dog Walk will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford, NY.  The 5K course will be officially measured.  Dogs are welcome for those who wish to do the 5K or take a leisurely 2-mile walk with their four-legged friends.  Virtual participation is available.

Presidential service dog Sully H.W. Bush will be in attendance to cheer on all runners, walkers and of course canine participants.

We encourage all participants to ask family, friends and colleagues to sponsor your efforts. Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers. A fundraising page is automatically created for you once you register. We offer incentives to all those who fundraise for America’s VetDogs.  Raise $75 and take home an America's VetDogs luggage tag. Participants can receive a blue America's VetDogs cap for raising $300 – this is in addition to the event t-shirt! Want a limited edition America’s VetDogs towel? All those who raise funds of $500 or more can take the towel home too! For any questions regarding fundraising, please contact Jaime McGrade at Jaime@VetDogs.org or at 631-930-9054.

Help America's Heroes

Since 2003, America’s VetDogs has trained and placed hundreds of assistance dogs, FREE of charge, with our nation’s wounded veterans.  Special assistance dogs are individually trained to help mitigate disabilities for veterans with blindness, spinal cord injuries, hearing impairments, peripheral and central balance disorders, limb loss, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Sponsorship Opportunities

Please consider one of our sponsorship packages for the 5th Annual Long Island Run & Dog Walk. Last year’s event attracted over 500 attendees including participants, volunteers and spectators, and raised more than $74,000, placing assistance dogs with veterans who have disabilities. In addition, the event was featured by many local media outlets. Help change a veteran's life today!
