Military Veterans and their service dogs honored at VetDogs Golf Event

Military Veterans, Future Service Dogs & Puppies, and Supporters Help Raise Awareness & Funds For National Service Dog Program

WHAT:  America’s VetDogs will be hosting their 9th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, August 27th, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am at Huntington Country Club. The event helps raise and awareness about the importance of service dogs and assists in deferring costs to raise, train and place these special dogs with our nation’s heroes. Two America’s VetDogs graduates, U.S. Air Force Veteran Stacy Pearsall and U.S. Army Veteran Jason Ditzler and their service dogs will be honored.

“The 9th Annual Golf Classic is one of our most successful and exciting fundraising events for America’s VetDogs.” says president and CEO John Miller, America’s VetDogs “Long Islanders come together for a fun day out on the green that also supports veterans with disabilities. Through events like the Golf Classic and from our generous sponsors and donors, we can raise funds to help VetDogs’ continue the mission to provide specially trained service dogs to veterans and first responders free of charge.”

It takes over $50,000 and two years to raise, train and match a service dog with a veteran with disabilities. However, all of VetDogs’ services are provided at no cost; funding comes from events such as the golf classic and the generous contributions of individuals, corporations, foundations, businesses, and service clubs.
